Contributes to Indian Economy Recovery with Upcoming CRRC Manufacturing Factory in India

1. CRRC Presence in India

Since Mumbai Metro Line 1 project in 2008, CRRC has developed mutual-beneficial partnerships with metro operators in many cities such as Gurgaon, Navi Mumbai, Calcutta, Noida, Nagpur. With recent awarded Bangalore 216 metros Project, the total order of CRRC has reached 597 metro cars.

2. CRRC ‘Make In India’ Plan

In response to the call of ‘Make in India’, also to provide the most competitive products to India, CRRC is in process to set up its metro manufacturing facility in Sricity of AP state.

The Sricity factory will support its localization proposal of awarded Bangalore 216 Metro Cars Project, namely over 75% local manufacture and over 50% local content. CRRC is also endeavor to increase the localization level to 90% local manufacture in future projects.

Furthermore, by playing a role as world factory of CRRC, the Sricity factory will undertake export order to West Asia and Africa in future.

3. Investment Scale

The investment in Sricity will divide into three phases on the 45.28 acres land and additional 20 acres reserved land.

Over 330 crores investment will be brought in for phase I only, to meet an annual manufacturing capacity of 200 metro cars. Additional metro production capacity and components production capacity will be introduced in phase II and phase III.

As the carrier of local factory, CRRC India Private Limited was incorporated in December 2019, with authorized capital of 200 crores rupees. Further 130 crores will be funding by borrowing/loans.

4. Social Responsibility

As of the plan, CRRC India will create 50 jobs in 2020, 200 jobs in 2021 and over 400 jobs in 2022. Finally, the local employment portion of CRRC India will exceed 95%. Further, CRRC India will nurture talents through training in China as well as in India.

CRRC India is fulfilling its social responsibility by compliance local operation, driving local employment and furnishing local talents, with Chinese funds and investment.
